Special called Excutive Board meeting calls one-time Shreveport pastor to be the Association's next Director of Missions

At a special called Executive Board meeting on July 23, 2009, the Rev. Wayne DuBose was unanimously elected as Director of Missions.

Bro. Wayne, former pastor of Summer Grove Baptist Church, and most recently, the pastor of Minden First Baptist Church, will take his position September 1, 2009. We welcome him and his wife, Linda, back to the Northwest Louisiana Baptist Association.

Bro. Wayne brings with him years of pastoral experience, a heart for missions and a deep love of the Lord. He has served in many  capacities within the Association, the Louisiana and Southern
Baptist Conventions.

War of Gog and Magog

Brother Wayne, I love and miss you and Miss Linda. Missions could not have a better Director. In relation to Israel and the hostilities she is facing from other nations I am concerned that we are nearing the War of Gog & Magog. But in Ezekiel it speaks of the approaching army being on horses. I am not sure where this war takes place in the prophetic time line. Since God miracously destroys them and Israel picks up their weapons and burns them for seven years it would seem that it occurs before the tribulation. Israel burns their weapons for fuel for seven years which they could do now because Russia created guns that are made of a compressed wood called crysolite that was created as a fuel. These guns were made because they could not be picked up on radar being made of wood. But the references of the soldiers being on horses throws me off. One reference I read suggested that the War of Gog and Magog occured during the tribulation and because of all the punishments poured out of the angels bowls on earth mankind is limited in supplies, food, transportation, etc. My Ryrie Study states it does not know when this war will be either. I am thinking with the economy being so bad and the possiblity of the world's economy failing that maybe we are leading up to that. But that would seem like an awful economic disaster that whole armies from Russia, Turkey, Libya would be on horses. What is the Southern Baptist teaching concerning this prophetic war that come in Ezekiel after God has regathered the Jews to their homeland? Miss listening to you. Your a fantastic Bible teacher.
